Educator. Leader. Community Advocate.

Harold Niehaus has spent his life helping people reach their potential. Over an 18-year career in agricultural education, he helped thousands of students develop leadership skills and career readiness through classroom instruction and the National FFA Organization—earning recognition as a National Board-Certified Teacher.

He later served in leadership roles across the region, including positions at Miami Valley CTC and Butler Tech, where he helped create innovative programs such as the Butler Tech Online School, the School of the Arts, and Project LIFE for students with special needs. In these roles, he helped oversee workforce training and education programs serving thousands of students and adults each year.

Commitment to Education and Workforce Development

Education has always been at the heart of Harold’s work. As Career Connections Director for Preble County schools, he helped more than 5,000 students explore career paths and prepare for success after graduation.

His leadership experience includes managing multi-million-dollar educational programs, developing curriculum for schools in multiple states, and helping connect businesses with the next generation of workers. Harold has also taught agriculture economics and workforce certification programs at the college level.

His goal has always been the same: ensure that students and adults have the tools they need to build successful careers right here in our region.

Dedicated to Preble County

Harold’s commitment extends far beyond the classroom.

He has volunteered for decades with organizations that strengthen the community, including the Preble County Historical Society, Preble County 4-H, the Preble County Council on Aging, the Eaton Rotary Club, and the Ohio Farm Bureau. He has also helped support major community events like the Pork Festival and the Black Walnut Festival.

Through grant writing and community partnerships, Harold has helped bring over $1 million in funding to projects that improve opportunities and quality of life for Preble County residents.
